Brewfest is here! For many of us the time has come to reap the rewards of the year long achievement and get our special proto-drake, for others, we are still making sure we have all our bases covered to get it done ASAP. Brewfest has a host of achievements which must be completed to get credit for ‘what a long, strange trip it’s been’ read this brewfest achievement guide to make sure you do them all at lightning speed!
1) Brew of the Month – Join the Brew of the Month club
Find any Brewfest quest giver and obtain ‘Brew of the Month’ club membership form, return this to your respective NPC in either Ironforge or Orgrimmar:
(A)Larkin Thunderbrew, located in Stonefire Tavern (18.8, 53.1)
(H) Ray’ma, located in Darkbriar Lodge Valley of Spirits (37,85)
2) Strange Brew – Sample the 9 different alcoholic beverages, all of them can be bought at 4 silver or less from NPCs in Ironforge/Ogrimmar. There are 3 different NPCs selling 3 different kinds of brews each make sure you buy all 9 (3×3) and drink them all to get the achievement.
3) Direbrewfest – Slay Coren Direbrew
Travel to Blackrock Depths (BRD) in eastern kingdoms (south of searing gorge), if possible find someone with the remote to activate a drill which will take you right to Coren’s hideout. If not zone into the instance and clear through it (it should be easy for level 80’s killing level 50 mobs) until you arrive at the ‘bar’ area.
Coren has been updated for WotLK and is now level 80. I advise bringing a full group of 5 in order to kill him. This will not only net you the achievement but will allow you to get a full group’s worth of drops (5 kills) and the chance to score one of the special mounts he drops (and get another achievement done in the process).
4) Disturbing the Peace – While wearing 3 pieces of Brewfest clothing, get completely smashed and dance in Dalaran
The cost of acquiring 3 pieces of brewfest clothing is 350 coins, these coins are obtained from doing special brewfest dailies. Once you have purchased 3 pieces of clothing, head to Dalaran, drink any alcoholic beverage (a few strong ones to make sure you get completely smashed) and dance! (use /dance)
5) Have Keg, Will Travel – Obtain a Brewfest mount, or transform yours into one using Brewfest Hops
As the description suggests there are 2 ways of obtaining this achievement. The first is by killing Coren Direbrew and obtaining one of his dropped mounts (described earlier in 3rd achievement) and the second is by converting one of your current mounts into a brewfest mount. To do this buy a special brewfest hops (these vary in price depending on which transformation you want) using coins obtained from the dailies, mount any of your ground mounts and use the item!
6) The Brewfest Diet – Eat 8 of the Brewfest foods
Visit the NPCs during Brewfest and buy all the necessary foods to obtain the achievement. The NPCs which sell these food are listed below:
Sold by Bron in Durotar (44.4, 16.7) for Horde, or Keiran Donoghue in Dun Morogh (48.9, 38.3) for Alliance:
- Dried Sausage
- Pickled Sausage
- Savory Sausage
- Spicy Smoked Sausage
- Succulent Sausage
- The Golden Link
Agnes Farwithers in Durotar (43.9, 17.9) for Horde, or Anne Summers Dun Morogh (49.3, 39.4) for Alliance:
- Spiced Onion Cheese
Uta Roughdough in Durotar (33.7, 17.4) for Horde or Arlen Lochlan in Dun Morogh (48.4, 39.9)
- The Essential Brewfest Pretzel
7) Drunken Stupor – Fall 65 yards without dying while completely smashed during the Brewfest Holiday.
This achievement may seem difficult but it is actually quite easy, take note that if you are jumping off something and landing in water you will not get the credit, so you must jump and land on the ground. Before you attempt this achievement it is highly advisable to remove all equipment which may take a durability hit. There are many places to get this achievement done, but perhaps the best place is in Shattarah City. To do this, use the lift to go up either Aldor or Scryers tier (scryer is better because the fall is shorter so you will have less risk of dying), on the elevator platform jump off and land on the ground at the bottom, this should net you the achievement. If you are having difficulty with this achievement because of death, try getting help from a priest (to cast levitate on you) or use skills such as divine shield or blink in order to soften the impact.
8) Down with The Dark Iron – Defend the Brewfest camp from the Dark Iron attack and complete the quest, “This One Time, When I Was Drunk…”
To do this achievement head to your brewfest camp (stationed outside Ironforge or Orgrimmar), every half an hour during the brewfest world event dark iron dwarfs will invade the camps. Your job is to defend the camp whilst leaving 3 kegs intact. This is very difficult as a solo mission, so it is highly advisable to call for reinforcements from general chat prior to the attack (use /1 to call for help). If you successfully defend the camp from the dwarfs they will leave behind a piece of wreckage which you can use to obtain the daily quest and achievement.
9) Does Your Wolpentinger Linger? – Obtain a Wolpentinger pet.
This is probably the easiest achievement of the lot. Head to your brewfest camp outside Ironforge or Orgrimmar and purchase the “wolpentinger’s Tankard” for 50s (even cheaper if you have faction discount)
